I love the little birds. There are so many unique and interesting birds. Some you never dreamed existed. One of the reasons that I like birds is that they remind me so much of people. They can be at times joyful, quiet, timid or in need of assistance. Other times they can appear naughty, proud, angry, loud and annoying or sad.
We are a lot like the birds. Each of us is unique and different in our own way. We can be happy, full of joy, proud. We can even be loud and annoying at times. Or we can find ourselves sad or angry, weighed down by the burdens of life. At times we can be angry and struggle to forgive those that have wronged us. I believe each of us has times in our lives when we are dealing with very difficult painful things. Some of the difficulties that we face may rock our very foundations.
In the scriptures, Christ talks about the birds. He says, “Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?”
He also says, “Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.”
Just like the little birds, we are not forgotten. He sees each of us. He knows of our pain and our heartache. He understands because He too has suffered. The miracle is that He can lift that pain from us. He can grant us strength to carry on and to move forward.
He is the answer. All we need to do is turn to Him and try our best to be like Him.
This is why I love the little birds. They remind me that although we are all different and we are all facing different challenges, He sees us. He knows us and He will provide a way.
